How to Update Existing Records for LSA Leads

When you activate your Zapier integration, the contact information and chat transcript collected by Intaker’s LSA Auto-Responder can be pushed to any Zapier-supported app. For updates to the transcript, such as when a lead comes back to the LSA Message chat to add more information, you can customize the Zapier integration to make sure the updates are only added to existing records - and not create any more new leads. This will prevent duplicate leads from populating in your app.

Firstly, make sure you have an active Zapier integration by completing these steps:

1. Create or Login to your Zapier account at Zapier.com.

2. Create a zap with the INTAKER (NEW V4) app inside your account dashboard. You will need to use the trigger: New Text Lead Received.

Once you’re ready, follow these steps to make sure Zapier updates existing records in the appropriate app:

  1. Choose between using lead IDs or phone numbers to identify each lead within your app. (We recommend using the Intaker lead IDs as an identifier to make updates as it will guarantee unique data per each unique lead.)
  2. Configure the Zapier integration to pull the following json data that Intaker sends with each Zap and identify any matches to the lead identifiers:some text
    1. IsUpdatedConversation = true/false text
      1. if true, an existing record needs to be updated
      2. if false, a new record needs to be created
  3. The app will now be able to update existing records for any updates the lead makes. It will not create new records.
