How Intaker events work in Google Analytics:

Event Category: Intaker

Event Action: Chat

Event labels:

1. startConversation: When a new chat is started

2. PhoneCaptured: When a phone number is captured from the prospect (usually counts as lead conversion for law firms)

3. EmailCaptured: When an email address is captured from the prospect (might count as lead conversion for other types of businesses)

4. WidgetOpen: When the widget opens for a visitor.

5. WidgetClose: When the visitor closes the widget.

6. CallBackWidgetOpen: When a visitor clicks the phone widget while using a device that is unable to make phone calls.

7. CallBackRequest: When a lead requests a callback and submits a name and a phone number. (usually counts as lead conversion for law firms)

8. ClickToCall: When a visitor clicks on the phone widget while using a device that is able to make phone calls. (usually counts as lead conversion for law firms)

9. PopupNo: When a lead selects "No" on the pop up.

10. PopupYes: When a lead selects "Yes" on the pop up.

Mark an event as a conversion:

1. Sign in to your Analytics account.

2. Click “Admin”.

3. Select an account from the menu in the ACCOUNT column.

4. Select a property from the menu in the PROPERTY column.

5. Select EVENTS beneath the chosen property.

6. You can then create events or mark them as a conversion by moving the slider MARK AS CONVERSION to “on.”

Pro Tips:

  • If you are familiar with Google Analytics, there is no longer a “tracking id” instead it’s a “measurement id.
  • If there is not an existing event created, it cannot be marked as a conversion.
  • It can take hours for a new conversion to go live.
  • On desktop when some clicks “call back request” and on mobile when someone selects “click to call” these become conversions.
